Prof WH Yung is currently the Director of the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Centre and Professor in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship and the Croucher Foundation Fellowship that supported his DPhil study and post-doctoral training in the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Prof. Julian Jack, FRS.
Prof Yung has a broad research interest involving the understanding of the functions and mechanisms of the nervous system of motor learning as well as the underlying neural circuits, and the nature of neuroplasticity through employing a multitude of cutting-edge neuroscience and computational techniques. He has 6994 citations and a Hirsch index of 46. He also received the Research Excellence Awards and the Master Teacher of the Year Award at the Faculty of Medicine (CUHK) in 2013 regarding his outstanding contribution to both research and teaching.
