General
Form 4-6 (Year 10-12) secondary school students are welcome to join.
You will attend lectures on the basic knowledge related to etiology, symptoms, immediate supportive measures and treatment of the five conditions.
You will also participate in two of four experiential therapy workshops, where you learn different well-known therapies targeted to improve mental wellbeing, as well as to acknowledge the importance of taking care of one's mental health.
Finally, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your university and career aspirations through campus tours and career sharing by neurosurgeon, as well as network with university students in related fields and like-minded secondary school students who share similar aspirations.
Throughout this activity, trained and equipped undergraduates that are majoring in medicine, biomedical sciences, psychology, etc. will be leading you to learn new knowledge! You can also mingle with them and know more about their experiences in handling public examinations, university admission and their university lives as well.
Don’t worry about getting lost! The group leaders will lead the group to walk a certain route to get to the next destination throughout the entire day in this activity.
You can only excuse from the activity with a valid reason, such as having an assessment/interview or falling ill. You are required to notify your group leader and excos of HKSAN as soon as possible. We reserve the right to request a valid document from you, such as a relevant assessment/interview notification, a medical certificate, etc. , for proof.
You may be recommended by the school to participate in this activity. We are obligated to inform your school and/or parents if you fail to attend all activities without providing a valid reason or prior notice to HKSAN.
Lunch will be arranged by your group leaders. On the first day, a canteen within the CUHK campus will be allocated to each group to prevent overcrowding. On the second day, group leaders may decide the place for lunch themselves, either at a canteen within HKU or restaurants in the surrounding area. While we try our best to communicate your needs with group leaders as indicated on the application form, please make sure they are aware of any dietary requirements you may have.
Please reserve $100-$200 in total for lunch on both days.
You can take the MTR to University station, which will directly take you to the campus. The exact location will be announced in due course.
You may take the MTR to HKU station, leave the station at Exit A1 and change to any buses (4, 4X, 90B, 30X, 970, 970X) at the HKU West Gate bus station. Alight at Queen Mary Hospital. The exact location will be announced in due course.
