📢We’re thrilled to announce that APNSC-HKSAN 2026 (6th Asia-Pacific Neuroscience Student Congress and HKSAN 7th Annual Conference), an HKSAN flagship event, will be held as a 2-day hybrid conference on 29th to 30th August! (tentative venue: PWH Shaw Auditorium)

💎This year‘s conference features four plenary sessions, each centred on a distinct theme: Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuropsychiatry & Mental Health, Functional Neuroscience & Movement Disorder, and Stroke.

🩺In addition, we are excited to offer a range of interactive workshops catering to diverse interests including research, neurosurgery, and acute epilepsy care.

🧠APNSC-HKSAN 2026 is the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific region to facilitate cross-border exchange for students who are interested in neuroscience and related fields.

Behind every individual dealing with health challenges is a family caregiver offering silent, unwavering support. Through this initiative, we aim to introduce secondary school students to the use of 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞, build 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬, and provide a unique opportunity to 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 between healthcare, community support and psychiatric rehabilitation. ⁣

HKSAN X Hong Kong Stroke Society Stroke Workshop was successfully held on 11 April 2026! 🧠🩺

Organized by the Department of Clinical Experience in collaboration with the Hong Kong Stroke Society, this hands-on workshop brought together medical students for an afternoon of practical learning and insightful discussions.

Participants engaged in thrombectomy simulation with actual equipment, explored stroke anatomy with Anatomage tables, and joined a meaningful sharing session with a stroke survivor.

Special thanks to Dr Gary Lau and Dr Samuel Lam for making this event possible and for sharing their expertise!
We also extend our sincere thanks to the Hong Kong Stroke Society, HKUMed SIMHSE & EdTech team, Techmezz, and 新健社 for their generous support.

Purple Day is an annual global event held on March 26 to raise awareness about epilepsy, a neurological condition that affects millions of people worldwide.

Established in 2008 by nine-year-old Cassidy Megan from Canada, who was inspired by her own experiences living with epilepsy, the day encourages people everywhere to wear purple and participate in events to dispel myths, reduce stigma, and show support for those affected. The initiative reminds individuals with epilepsy that they are not alone and has grown to involve participants worldwide.

The annual flagship event of our Department of Public Health, SPEAD, was held on February 7th-8th, 2026, with more than 200 student participants and group leaders joining us across CUHK and HKUMed campuses during the two-day program.
